MIHA is a competitive travel league designed for highly skilled and intermediate-level players across the Midwest. Each season, MIHA hosts approximately 20 weekend tournaments in cities throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York. The league is home to around 65 teams and continues to grow each year. Teams may compete in up to four regular-season events, with a fifth championship event available to qualifying teams. Tournament entry fees are $590 for inline hockey and $1,120 for ice hockey.

Please complete the following application for entry into MIHA. A deposit is required at the time of submission to reserve your spot for the season—$350 for inline teams and $450 for ice teams. If your application is denied, the deposit will be fully refunded. If approved, the deposit will be applied to your team’s final tournament of the season. Teams that withdraw from a tournament without providing at least one month’s notice will forfeit their deposit to the league. Additional information about the season format is outlined below.

The Owner has top authority and responsibility for the teams financial obligations and operation. The Owners will vote on behalf of the team in regards to league decisions. The Owner will also have the final say on all team activities. Owners will insure that the team is fully registered, all league fees are paid in full and that the team follows all league rules and bylaws.

Tournament Selection

Before the start of the season, each team will receive a tournament list. Teams will be asked to rank which events they would most like to attend. Once all rankings are submitted, teams will be placed into a tournament draft where they may select up to 5 tournaments to compete in during the season (note: teams may opt to play fewer than five).

The draft takes place over multiple rounds, with each team receiving one pick per round. The order of selection is based on team seniority within MIHA. Final schedules will be built based on each team’s draft selections.

Season Format

Over the course of the 2025–2026 season, each team earns points during every tournament game played:

  • 3 points – Win

  • 2 points – Overtime Loss

  • 1 point – Regulation Loss

MIHA’s season is flexible — teams face a variety of opponents in different cities across their schedule. Matchups vary based on the event, not a fixed league schedule.

At the end of the season, the top 10 teams per division (based on total points) will be invited to Championships.
