2015-16 T2 Champions - Windy City Syndicate

The Windy City Syndicate entered the Championships as the #6 seed.  Their first game Saturday was a rematch of last seasons T2 Championship Game vs. #7 Buffalo City Hawks.  Syndicate won the game 6-4 moving on to play against Detroit Revolution.  They defeated Drev 4-2 winning the lower bracket and earning the #5 seed for Championship Sunday.  

Their first match up on Sunday was against the #4 Squirtle Squad.   Squirtle entered the Championships as the overall #1 seed but lost both games on Saturday (Shamrocks 5-6 shootout and 1-5 to the Detroit Knights).  The Syndicate survived the unusually rough game, defeating Squirtle 4-2.  The semi-final matchup was against the #3 Mid-Michigan Saints.  The Saints are familiar with going on a playoff run at that rink.  They won the 2013-14 MIHA Championships at Canlan Arena as the #8 vs. the #7 seeded Detroit Knights that season.  But the Windy City Syndicate defeated the Saints 6-4 with big help from their MVG goaltender - "Soup".   They went on to the Championship game vs. the Cinderella story #7 seeded Detroit Revolution.  The Detroit Revolution defeated the Buffalo City Hawks in the semi-final 5-1.  The Syndicate scored the first 4 goals of the game during the last 4 minutes of the first period.  They never looked back, winning the game 7-0.
