2015-16 T3 Champions - Great Lakes Assassins

The Great Lakes Assassins entered the MIHA Championships as the #1 seed.  But having not played in several months and losing their #3 scorer, Zach Hoover, they were not a clear favorite to win the T3 Championships.  Their first game Saturday was vs. the #4 Windy City Syndicate South, losing 5-4.   That loss put them against the Buffalo Fusion White which they narrowly defeated 5-4, earning them the #3 seed for Sunday. 

Their first game on Sunday was against the #6 Windy City Syndicate North, which they won 6-2 against a very short benched Chicago team that lost their leading scorer mid-season due to a 1-year suspension.  They went on to play the #2 Midwest Crusaders who just defeated the Detroit Revolution 4-0.  The Assassins defeated them 6-2  Setting up a T3 Championship game vs. #5 Summit Shamrocks.   The Shamrocks defeated the Mid-Michigan Saints in the semi-final game 7-6 in OT.    The season series between the Shamrocks and Assassins was won by the Assassins 3-2.  The Championship Game was one of the best all season.  The Shamrocks scored the first two goals of the game before the Assassins battled back.  The game was tied 6-6 inside of two minutes when the Assassins - Kean Hoerle scored the game winner with 1:52 remaining.
